Nehru Zoo Park

Nehru Zoological Park is one of the largest zoo park in India and spread over an area of 380 acres. It is situated in Hyderabad, Telangana state. This park is named in the memory of Zawaharlal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India.
It is very wonderful picnic spot in Hyderabad to spend weekends with families. Especially children will enjoy. To vist this park totally, it will take at least 6 hours.

Nehru Zoo Park hosts 1,500 species of birds, mammals and reptiles. Wild animal are kept in open enclosures which are created to reflects the natural habitats. Butterfly Park, Jurassic Park, aquariums are attracts visitors.
Lion safari, elephant safari and other safaris will be available here. 140 species of animals, birds and mammals in the zoo park will be found here.
Some animals in the zoo:
Chimpanzee from Central Africa, Mandrill, Orangatun, Chacma, Olive and yellow baboons and Indian Rhesus Monkeys, Bonnet, normal monkeys, Golden and common langurs are seen here.
African and Indian Lions, Tigers, Panthers, Jackals, Wolves, Hyenas, Bears etc. and reptiles like Giant Star Tortoises, water Turtles, Crocodiles in open pools, Monitor Lizards and Chameleons share enclosures, hooded Indian Cobra, Russel Viper, Giant rock-python, Tree Snakes etc. are also seen here.
Elephants, Rhinoceros, Hippopotamus, Zebras, American Bison, Antelopes, Black Buck, Chousingha, Chinkara, Deer, Sambhar, and Brow Antler Deer are also present in this zoo.
African and Indian Lions are shown open in this Zoo. Indian Lions in Asia, with natural setting same as forest will be seen here.
Indian National animal Tiger is also seen in this zoo, both white Tiger’s and normal Tiger’s are present in open forest area bounded by wall. The normal and black Panthers are shown in large iron fencing area. A toy train in the zoo park will attracts children.
Adjacent Mir Alam tank attracts migratory birds from all over the world.
Safaries : Bison Safari, Lion Safari, Tiger Safari and Bear Safaries are run at regular intervals throughout the day. Ticket price will be collected for safari

Bicycle and Buggy / Battery Operated Vehicles are available for rent. Boating at the Mir Alam Lake is another attraction of the Nehru zoological park
Facilities:
Zoo authorities will provid drinking water, first aid facility, toilets and washrooms, benches for sitting, battery operated vehicles. Food:
There are to canteens named Maharaja and Rhino, serves food to visitors. Zoo Guest house is available for rent from 9 AM to 5.50 PM. Charges will be colleted to use the guest house. Plastic bottles, plates other plastic articles are not allowed into the park
Vijaya dairy parlour sells diary products like butter milk, badam milak and other diary milk products. Visitors are allowed to carry own food and water and other snacks.
Precautions Viisitors are not allowed to take any plastic bags or any other related items inside the zoo premises while this park is plastic free zone.
Park opening times
Every Monday is Holiday to this park. 08-00 AM to 05.30 PM during the months of April to June
July to March, from 8.30 AM to 5 PM.
Entry fees Rs.15 under 12 years children and Rs.30 per adults Extra amount will be collected for still cameras and professional video cameras
How to go?
Nehru Zoological Park is located in Bahadurapura near to Kishan Bag on the Zoo Main road. RTC Buses and autos will be available to reach this park.
