World famous renowned Salar Jung museum is located in the banks of river Moosi in Hyderabad. It is very close to Historical monument Charminar and Mecca Masjid.
Safar Jung III, Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, collected major portion of articles of this museum for a period of 40 years. Later his successors donated the entire collections to Government of India.
Wonderful collections of art objects and antiques collected not only from India and from western countries like England, Ireland, France, Belgium and Itlay.
This museum comprises 39 galleries spread over in three buildings named as Central Block, Easter Block and Western block. The central block is in ground floor having 27 galleries (ground floor 15, first floor 12)

10.00 am to 05-00 pm. Every Friday is holiday. Apart from Friday the museum will be closed on Salar Jung death Anniversary day, Holy, Ramzan, Bakrid, Vijaya Dasami, Muhuram, Deepavali, Milad Un Nabi
Autos and RTC busses, taxies will run to this museum from all parts of Hyderabad. Afzalganj bus stop is the nearest place to this museum.
