Chamundeswari Devi Temple, Mysore
కర్నాటక రాష్ట్రంలోని మైసూరు జిల్లా లోని మైసూరులో మైసూరు ప్యాలెస్ కు 13 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో చాముండేశ్వరి కొండపై ఉన్నది. దుష్టులకు భయాన్ని కలిగించే భయంకరమైన రూపాన్ని కలిగిన ఈ దేవాలయం ప్రధాన దేవత చాముండేశ్వరి. ఈ దేవతను పార్వతి అని, శక్తి అని, దుర్గ అని అనేక రకాల పేర్లతో పిలుస్తుంటారు.
మైసూరు మహరాజులు చాలా సంవత్సరాలుగా ఈ దేవతను పూజిస్తూ, కుల దేవతగా ఆరాధీస్తూ, ఈ దేవాలయాన్ని పోషిస్తూ ఈ దేవాలయ అభివృద్ధికి సహకరించారు. ఈ పుణ్యక్షేత్రాన్ని 12 వ శతాబ్దంలో హోయసల పాలకులు నిర్మించారని భావిస్తున్నారు.
సంవత్సరాని కొక్కసారి సర్వాలంకార భూషితమైన చాముండమ్మను చూడటం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తారు భక్తులు. తల మీదున్న చామరాజ ముడి (కిరీటం), కంఠాభరణాలతో, కర్ణ పత్రాలతో, 3 పతకాలు, హారం, 28 మణులను పొదిగిన కంఠి, జడ పిన్నులు, జడ బిళ్ల, వజ్ర ఖచితమైన త్రిశూలం, పాశుపతాస్త్రం, నాగాస్త్రం,
కవచం, ఘంటా హస్త కవచం, కలశం, డమరుకాస్త్రం, ఖడ్గ హస్తం తదితర ఆభరణాలతో సర్వశోభితంగా చాముండీదేవి అలరారుతుంది. నవరాత్రి ఏడవ రోజున చాముండీ దేవి ఆలయానికి సకల ఆభరణాలను తీసుకురావడం జరుగుతుంది. ఆ రోజు రాత్రి నుండి 12 రోజులు అన్ని ఆభరణాలను దేవికి అలంకరిస్తారు. దసరా పండుగ ముగిసిన కొద్ది రోజులకు ఆభరణాలను

This fierce form of Shakti, Chamundeshwari temple is the well known temple of goddess Shakti in South India. this serene place is believed to be sanctified by the hair from Sati’s dead body. this temple is the worshipping place of Chamunda, the slayer of Chanda and Munda. Chamunda is an ancient Indian deity who has been referred to in ancient Indian texts such as Devi Mahatmya, Varah Purana and Matsya Purana and she is often described as one of the Sapta-Matrikas (seven mothers). In Chamundeshwari temple, she is worshipped as Ashtabhuja (deity having eight hands) seated on a lotus flower. This imposing shrine is claimed to be around thousand years old and depicts the best instance of Dravidian School of Architecture.
